Bali In Indonesia

Since its always good to expand your horizons , so i decided to do exactly so with my blog. And made two more additions TRAVEL & RECIPES to it.

Today's post will be on TRAVEL. Since it was my second anniversary yesterday, so got a little nostalgic remembering my HONEYMOON.  Honeymoons are meant to be special and exotic (not to mention romantic). Its every girls dream to have their honeymoon spent in such a way that will be etched in their memories forever. To me, honeymoons are nothing but a couples' longing for seclusion and not every secluded place can be romantic, exotic and budget friendly at the same time. So thought of penning down a "Budget International Honeymoon" that every newlyweds or soon to be bride/groom aspires for.

Bali is a place where i would say 'serenity' is redefined. Its exactly the way it was shown in the hollywood flick "EAT PRAY LOVE." i would say its way more beautiful , if you witness it physically. its breathtaking greenery, exotic sea beach, beautiful sea creatures , adventure water sports , smouldering volcanoes , divine temples , colourful reefs , world class spas to rejuvinate yourself and to top it all its a shoppers paradise. Its is a  perfect island gateaway.

Bali is an amalgamation of all of the above and i would say its a perfect honeymoon destination. Trust me you wont regret it. Now let me give you the details of a complete bali tour. Since its your honeymoon i would advice you to go on your own and not through any package tours. This would obviuosly strain your wallet but everything is worth for your honeymoon rite. I am sure you would prefer a relaxed and laid back tour to a  "run on your toes" trip.

To start with, if you are longing for an airline with good hospitality and great food & service, then singapore airlines is the one to put your money on. And also the best one to start your journey with. Bali offers for " visa on arrival " for all the countries of the world except for Thailand , Singapore , Vietnam , Phillippines , Malaysia , Peru , Morocco , Macao , Hongkong , Chile & Brunei Darussalam.

Now where to put up in bali. for honeymoon couples without a doubt 'tanjung benoa' is the place. Its a 25 mins. drive from bali's international airport. Its adjacent to 'nusa dua',southern part of bali. Its secluded yet well connected to the rest of the island. Many people go gaga over 'kuta', but frankly speaking its good for shopping and all but not for a honeymoon couple, its highly over crowded , not pleasant if you are longing for a quiet stay. Now if you ask me to recommend a luxorious resort at benoa , i would recommend RAMADA RESORT (keeping in mind romantic location, connectivity, adjacent beach, spick&span, great food& service, spa, world class facilites and yet not overpriced.).

Now let me give you the names of the 'must visit'  tourist destinations, Tanah Lot. The sunset at Tanah Lot is a must watch, it was phenominal. We were among the few lucky who got to witness heavy downpour at Tanah Lot making our visit even more romantic. God was on our side that day.

You may also visit Uluwatu temple. It is a sea temple in bali's pecatu village in south kuta district. This temple's breathtaking views will sweep you down your feet. This temple is inhabited by monkeys , so you just have to be a little careful. Otherwise its a must visit place.

Another tourist attraction that one should not miss is the Garuda Wisnu Kencana . It is a cultural park at the southern end of bali , on the bukit peninsula . It boasts of a huge statue of Lord Vishnu which is almost 75.5ft high and Lord Vishnu's mount Garuda, the king of all birds.

.Then you can visit ' turtle island ' at tanjung benoa, closer home. Here , the deadLy cock fight was entertaining. You are going to love this place if you are an animal lover.

Then there was this one temple named Taman Ayun temple , which was just a two mins. walk from our resort. The beautiful architecture of this temple will instantly give you the feeling of its rich royal heritage. Its a royal temple of the Mengwi Empire.

Bali beaches have a wide variety of water sports to choose from. You can unleash yourself on the beaches of bali for a day or so.

Food in bali is equally good. Since you are in bali, you should obviously try the balinese cuisine. Being an Indian after the first few days i started craving for Indian food. And to my surprise we found this restaurant called "queen's of india" (big sigh of relief)!!! They also provided free pick up and drop .

Then comes the most relaxing part which is spa.out of all the types of massage , every night i opted for a balinese massage to recharge myself. Balinese masage originated on the island of bali. In nusa dua there is a long stretch of massage centres & spas to choose from.

Last but not the least my favourite part ,  shopping in bali . For shopping kuta is the best place. But for a detailed shopping description , you would have to wait for a few more days as that i would include in my fashion post.

shopping shopping and some more shopping

Hope i have enticed you enough to plan your honeymoon in Bali.

P.S. our entire tour cost us around rs.200000 , so you may convert the currency as required.
