How many of you love cottage cheese ??? I am sure many of you . And yes today I am going to show you a yummy cottage cheese recipe . Cottage Cheese or Paneer ( as we Indians call it ) , is a cheese curd product. You can either prepare cottage cheese /paneer at home ( but the entire process is time consuming and tiring ), so i would advice you to buy them from the market ( easily available in any departmental store or even in any sweet shop ).
 Now the recipe :

onion : 3 ( medium )
tomato : 3 ( medium )
ginger : 1 inch
garlic : 1whole ( about 15 pods )
coriander powder : 1 teaspoon
cumin powder : 1 teaspoon
red chilli powder : 1 teaspoon
oil : 3 tablespoon
salt to taste
green chilli : 6
water : 1cup
paneer : 400grams
  • take a heavy bottomed pan / kadai and heat oil

  • once hot , add the whole coriander seeds and let it splutter.
  • now add the onions , green chilli , ginger and garlic and saute for about 5 mins.

  • add tomato

  • and continue sauting till it gets mashed
  • continue sauting for a few more minutes and turn off the gas and let it cool. now transfer the mixtutre in a grinder.

  • grind the mixture into a fine paste
  • tranfer the paste back to preheated pan / kadai and add the powdered spices ( cumin , coriander & chilli )

  • mix the spices well and keep sauting till oil separates from the paste.

  • at this stage add paneer salt and water as per required .
  • keep boiling till you get your desired consistency

  • and your cottage cheese / paneer is ready for serving. goes best with roti/ rice.

P.S. : in a hurry , i skipped garnishing my dish , so you may garnish your dish with chopped coriander leaves, or even with a blob of butter .
